The AFC/M23 coalition has accused the Kinshasa government forces of carrying out intensive bombings on both civilian-populated areas and rebel positions in South Kivu and North Kivu, just hours after signing a ceasefire protocol in Doha on October 14, 2025.

In a statement addressed to the national and international community, the coalition condemned the attacks, describing them as a violation of the agreement and a continuation of the government’s “usual practices” of targeting civilians and opposition positions.

The ceasefire protocol, mediated in Doha, Qatar, was intended to halt hostilities and create conditions for dialogue between the parties. However, AFC/M23 claims the bombing demonstrates a lack of commitment from Kinshasa to honor the agreement, raising concerns about the stability of the peace process.

The coalition called on international partners to hold the Kinshasa regime accountable for breaching the ceasefire and urged urgent measures to protect civilians in the affected regions.

This latest escalation comes amid ongoing tensions in eastern DRC, where the presence of armed groups and government forces continues to threaten security and humanitarian conditions for local populations.
