AFC/M23 has installed a new electrical transformer in North Kivu, giving the region the capacity to be fully powered for the first time in decades.

Vice Governor Willy Manzi highlighted the speed of the achievement, noting that areas under AFC/M23 control were electrified in a short period, a feat that, he said, Kinshasa has struggled to accomplish in 65 years of independence.

The development is expected to significantly improve daily life for residents, ending prolonged power shortages and providing reliable electricity to homes, businesses, and public services.

Vice Governor Manzi credited the accomplishment to the “good governance and innovative spirit” of AFC/M23, describing it as a major milestone in infrastructure and public service provision in the region.

This move signals a focus on modernization and the provision of essential utilities in areas under AFC/M23 administration.
