The High Political Coordination of the Congo River Alliance (AFC/M23) convened in Goma on Monday for an extraordinary capacity-building session focused on new governance strategies for the Democratic Republic of Congo.

The high-level meeting brought together the main political authorities of the organization, including Coordinator Corneille Nangaa Yobeluo, his deputies Bertrand Bisimwa and Freddy Kaniki, and the two Permanent Secretaries, Benjamin Mbonimpa and Délion Kimbulungu. Also in attendance were the Heads of the Departments of Communication, Finance, and Mobilization.

Representatives of the Chief of General Staff of the Congolese Revolutionary Army (ARC) participated, alongside the governors of North Kivu and South Kivu and their respective deputies.

The gathering aims to strengthen coordination, enhance governance structures, and align the organization’s leadership on strategic priorities for the Democratic Republic of Congo.

Officials said the session will focus on capacity building, policy implementation, and mechanisms to improve political and administrative efficiency within the AFC/M23 framework.

The meeting reflects ongoing efforts by the Alliance to consolidate its governance structures and ensure cohesive decision-making across its leadership and regional authorities.
