Subject: Destiny and Duty in the Great Kivu
Dear General Sultan Makenga,
Eastern Congo; the Great Kivu, is showing signs of breaking out from the vast and humongous DR Congo, much like South Sudan or Singapore and others. We see it, we feel it and we can smell it.
Singapore and S. Sudan, add Eritrea and Kosovo, all emerged from similar circumstances: misery, suffering, exploitation, poverty, lack of identity, and persecution—until the oppressed fought back, fiercely.
Singapore did not beg for independence. You know that. It was forced out and stood tall.
South Sudan did not win freedom in boardrooms. It bled for fifty years, lost millions, and when unity became chains, it broke them.
Now, The Great Kivu is on the same road. But the cruelty here is darker, more grotesque.
The world talks about minerals while your women are raped in churches, your children are burned alive. Elders are butchered and eaten like beasts. The Banyamulenge, the Kinyarwanda-speaking communities of South and North Kivu; are branded foreigners, hunted like animals, denied even their right to exist.
And yet the balance has shifted.
This is not 1994 of Rwanda where the RPA used rudimentary tools and scanty weapons.
This is the age of drones, cyber intelligence, and educated sons and daughters who will not kneel. They can use internet to locate an enemy and guide a kamikaze to destroy an enemy.
You have an advantage. Tshisekedi is not a leader. He is a clouwn. He is a weak, wicked, incompetent puppet. Why do you keep sanitizing him? Why do you pretend there is negotiation? Didn’t President Paul Kagame warn you; that he is untrustworthy.
Look at whom he bows to; Belgium. Prime Minister Maxime Prevot has flown to meet Tshisekedi twice.
And the fool welcomed him with honor, forgetting history. Forgetting that Belgium plundered Congo to the bone. Forgetting that King Leopold II butchered nearly ten million Congolese; whipped for failing to meet rubber quotas, hands chopped off and displayed in baskets, women raped in villages, whole communities starved into submission.
Leopold ruled not as a king but as a vampire, draining blood and life for ivory and rubber while Europe applauded.
His descendants arrive in Kinshasa in suits, pretending to bring peace and prosperity. They are not messiahs. They are thieves, inherently. They are killers by bloodline. Already Belgian companies line up quietly for mining concessions, the same way their ancestors lined up for slaves and rubber.
Now they have found a sellout; F. T Chilombo. And when they are done using him, they will treat him like a prostitute; discarded, humiliated, abandoned.
This is your time to make the historic move. It’s like Manna from God. Take it with two hands.
Belgium has never changed. Don’t be naive. It engineered your misery, and today it still whispers in Kinshasa and Bujumbura, plotting how to erase you and your people.
I want to remind you that, after they were done with Congo, Belgium stepped next door.
They crafted and engineered what culminated into a genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda. One million innocent people were slaughtered in one hundred days. That, too, carries their fingerprints.
And the betrayal is not only Belgium.
The so-called international community has betrayed you. For more than 20 years, a UN force funded at over US$1 billion annually has been deployed in your territory. What has it done? It has watched while your people were massacred.
Worse still, it joined foreign forces in attempts to neutralize you. Yet you subdued them. Their betrayal stands as proof that no outside savior will come to rescue your people.
Meanwhile, NGOs fabricate reports, accusing you of killing your own kin. The mockery is unbearable. They twist truth into lies, painting the victim as the perpetrator while real killers roam free.
Lurking militias, the Wazalendo of Tshisekedi and FDLR; those who committed the genocide against the Tutsi in Rwanda; who crossed into Congo, ate your people’s flesh, raped, and killed your people.
And today, they are integrated into Tshisekedi’s army, the FARDC, handed weapons and uniforms to finish the work they started in 1994.
That’s not enough? Burundi’s soldiers, too, have slaughtered thousands of your people in both North and South Kivu.
They are genocidal, barbaric, and complicit in the plan of extermination.
Alongside Tshisekedi, they conspire to erase you. Almost 100,000 troops of foreign armies; including South African, Malawian, Tanzanian, and Burundi; descended with supersonic weapons and thousands of mercenaries to finish you and your people off.
And yet, you defeated them all and sent them back to their homes. They are shameless and no remorse for your own information.
So, what else is left? Kneeling and hoping for something else? No. Your people should be matching to the mountains not dancing igisirimba, lost in oblivion.
Enough suspense. Enough nail-biting. Declare independence. Take full control. Protect your people. End the torment.
Your Predecessors did their best. It’s your turn. This is it. Do the needful. Your supporters are impertinently waiting. You will lose men and women in battle. It is a matter of life and death, but die as heroes not like dogs, mocked and humiliated.
The world does not care for morality. It cares for minerals. The Chinese want them. So do the Americans. So do Qatar, Europe, Canada.
They do not care who delivers them, only that the supply does not stop. Sanctions? Theater. Condemnations? Empty words.
Outcomes are what matter. Eritrea, Kosovo, South Sudan, Singapore—none of them asked permission. They seized the moment. History bowed.
Do the same, General!
It is a first come, first serve. Delay is death. Not poetic death; slow, humiliating, agonizing extinction. If you hesitate, your people will be exterminated, and the world will mourn only after the graves are full.
I am not advocating for violence. But in a situation of this magnitude, where millions are killed and atrocities are committed in broad daylight, decisive action is the ultimate and reasonable solution.
If you have the muscle, equip your army and march to Kinshasa and drive the madman out of office. The state of DRC is infested with a deadly virus; genocide ideology, primitive politics, and thievery. A state that allows cannibalism in this era should be abolished and erased.
No empire lasts forever. No oppressor sleeps in peace. No persecuted people remain in chains for eternity. The rivers of Kivu already run red. The mountains are witnesses. The soil itself cries for justice.
This is destiny. Bring the lost souls of your people back to the green lashes so that they can sleep peacefully, children play and men rejoice victory and tranquility.
You and all Kinyarwanda-speaking communities are not children of chance. Your blood waters the seed of freedom. The world sneers at the weak but bows to the bold.
General, buckle up. Ready your boys and girls. Arm them to the tooth. Defend and conquer. Do not delay. This is the hour. History waits for no coward.
Or else, once you are gone, the spirits of your ancestors and your descendants will never forgive you.
Yours sincerely from the Land of Milk and Honey.
