The President of the National Assembly of the Democratic Republic of Congo, Vital Kamerhe, has sent a parliamentary team to North Kivu to visit areas recently struck by massacres attributed to the Allied Democratic Forces (ADF).
The mission follows a new wave of mass killings, including the murder of more than 100 people last week in the same region.
According to an official mission order, the delegation will spend 15 days, from September 17 to October 1, providing assistance to victims in Ntoto (Lubero Territory) and Mbau (Beni Territory).
The seven deputies assigned to the mission are:
Thaddée Katembo Kambere
Sosthène Maombi Katsongo
Jeannine Kavira Katasohire
Alexandre Kambale Muhasa
Bosco Kombi Pendani
Arsène Mwake Bwenge
Joseph Mbusa Machozi
Travel and mission expenses will be covered by the National Assembly, with transport by air and vehicle.
Civil, military and police authorities have been asked to provide assistance to the delegation when needed.
