Kinshasa, September 8, 2025 – Jacky Ndala, a prominent Congolese activist and political prisoner, has released a deeply emotional and defiant message from his prison cell, expressing that he is on the brink of death and accusing state authorities of abandoning him without medical care.

In a letter that reads like a final testament, Ndala declares that after months of deteriorating health and repeated pleas for urgent treatment, his requests were “categorically refused, heartlessly, without compassion.”

“All my life, I fought, I invested to succeed, I battled for others, I concerned myself with the future of my motherland, today, my life is worth absolutely nothing,” Ndala wrote. “For those who have chosen to keep me here unjustly, heartlessly, without dignity: magistrates, judges, service agents, politicians, no one will be spared.”

Ndala, who has been detained for an extended period under charges his supporters describe as politically motivated, accused Congolese judicial and political authorities of letting him die in prison.

“I may or may not make it out,” he continued. “I am at the end of my days, my body has betrayed me, it has unfortunately given in. They have let me die here.”

The activist, widely recognized for his outspoken criticism of government corruption and calls for democratic reform, went on to denounce what he called the hypocrisy of those who contributed to his imprisonment:

“If I die, do not contribute to my funeral, do not buy a coffin for this cowardly body, do not mourn me, hypocrites. Leave my small family—my dear wife and my children—cremate this body that betrayed me, burn this flesh that gave in, and scatter the ashes from whence it came. I refuse your hypocrisy after my death.”

Despite his dire condition, Ndala reaffirmed his belief in the future of the Democratic Republic of Congo:

“No, I am going to the other side, I am crossing over, but the Kongo will exist after me, no one is eternal, no one will dominate forever. Injustice will not reign forever. One day this country will be led by just and truly patriotic brothers and sisters.”

In the letter, he called on his comrades to remain steadfast and never betray their convictions, urging his children to live with “conviction, love for others, and justice.” He also left a personal farewell to his wife and mother, thanking them for their love and strength.

Jacky Ndala’s message ends with a stark warning to those he holds responsible for his suffering: “May the spirits deal with all those who caused and are complicit in my death. May the spirits deal with their offspring.”

As of now, there has been no official response from the Congolese authorities regarding Ndala’s claims or his health condition. Human rights groups have long raised concerns over prison conditions and alleged political repression in the country.

“Even in the hereafter, the resistance continues. Farewell!” his letter concluded.
