More than 120,000 members of the Refuge City Church filled the Palais du Peuple on Sunday, August 10, 2025, for an extraordinary thanksgiving service led by Prophet Mulindwa Jules.

The gathering, held under the theme “Celebrating the Independence and Victory of the DRC,” brought together believers from 30 congregations across Kinshasa’s communes.

Worshippers marked the occasion by commemorating the country’s independence in 1960, praying for President Félix Tshisekedi in line with the biblical passage 1 Timothy 2:1-2, and expressing gratitude for what they described as recent diplomatic victories against the nation’s adversaries.

The service also became a moment of collective intercession for lasting peace in eastern DRC, where conflict continues to displace thousands.

Prophet Mulindwa urged unity, faith, and perseverance as the country faces political and security challenges.
