Patrick Busu Bwa Ngwi on Friday officially inaugurated the newly rehabilitated Mbaki Avenue in Bukavu, marking the launch of a new phase of urban road modernization under the AFC-M23 administration.
The rehabilitation of Mbaki Avenue is expected to significantly improve traffic flow in Bukavu’s city center, where congestion has long affected transportation and daily movement for residents and businesses.
Speaking during the inauguration ceremony, Governor Patrick Busu Bwa Ngwi described the project as part of broader efforts to modernize urban infrastructure and improve public services across South Kivu.
Local authorities said the upgraded road will enhance mobility, facilitate trade, and support economic activities within the city by improving access for motorists, pedestrians, and commercial transport operators.
Residents and business owners in Bukavu welcomed the development, expressing optimism that improved road infrastructure will contribute to faster transportation and increased economic opportunities in the region.
The inauguration signals the beginning of additional infrastructure projects planned under the AFC-M23 administration as part of ongoing urban development initiatives in South Kivu.
