In total, 573 grassroots leaders from the Masisi territory, ranging from community chiefs to village chiefs and including groupement chiefs, completed their training this Sunday, May 24, 2026, at the Kanombe ideological training center, located in the Rutshuru territory.

According to the organizers, the participants followed several modules covering topics such as the history of the revolution in the DRC, the ideology of AFC/M23, good governance, leadership, and peaceful coexistence.

These teachings were delivered as part of the program named “Uongozi Bora” (Good Governance), as stated by Pascal Uzamukunda Rububa, deputy head of the mobilization department.

Present at the closing ceremony, the Governor of North Kivu, Bahati Musanga Erasto, urged the beneficiaries to promote love for one’s neighbor, living together in harmony, and positive values within their respective communities.

He also called on them to demonstrate exemplary conduct in carrying out their local responsibilities.

For his part, Benjamin Mbonimpa, the permanent secretary and head of the executive of AFC/M23, revisited the motivations that, according to him, gave rise to the rebellion.

He emphasized the importance of responsible leadership as the foundation of local governance and took the opportunity to inform the participants about the progress of ongoing discussions with the Kinshasa government.

At the end of the ceremony, Benjamin Mbonimpa invited the graduates to raise awareness among young people to voluntarily join the Congolese Revolutionary Army (ARC), affirming that the doors of this armed force remain open to candidates eager to enlist.

The ceremony concluded with the presentation of certificates and the symbolic baptism of the participants, who are now considered cadres of AFC/M23 after completing this fifth cohort of the “UNITEC 005 Uongozi Bora” program.
